Okay, so I fully admit I have been REALLY slack with this blog. I read other blogs, I work (and this Christmas was a busy one!), I take care of my kids and I think about getting to this blog and how great it could be. But I just can’t seem to get around to it very often. So……..if I have one New Year’s Resolution - it is to correct that and really get into this blog. I will start by posting a shot of myself, taken by Hugh Wesley for a recent newspaper article. Had such fun during this shoot. Hugh is a real pro, I worked with him year’s ago and it was such a pleasure to have him in my studio. It was also very interesting to be on the other side of the camera! Now I don’t normally roll children up into carpets to get a good shot. But this is my son Wyatt, and so - I am allowed!! Besides he loved it!! Here is to more regular and inspiring posts. And to keeping New Year’s Resolutions!!!

Well, it’s been a busy time, getting back into the swing of things. The kids are all back at school and the holiday season is gearing up to be a busy one! The phone has starting ringing to book holiday portrait sessions. I am in the process of getting my site calendar up to date, so bear with me while I get that going. It presently doesn’t reflect booked shoot dates, so please ask what’s available until I get that sorted out. On another note - had a great time teaching my Family Portraiture Workshop at Pikto labs this past Sunday. The participants were AWESOME and we had a blast! I hope to post some of their shots soon. Send ‘em over guys and let’s show everyone what we learned! And thank you all for coming, you had to wait a bit for this one - as a back problem forced me to postpone the first date. I really appreciate that and am so glad that we all finally got to meet and talk shop! Once you all left for the day, I got to play around a bit with my son, Wyatt. He loved running up that curved wall! Here are a few samples, just for fun!!

Hi there, I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to those of you who I have not met yet. I am Wendy’s assistant, Studio Manager and friendly ally Angie Burke. I also possess a creative drive that has my visual and emotional eye changing my perception of the world constantly. Viva the Artist’s Quest!

At this time it is my pleasure to present the winning images from Wendy’s recent workshops - “Art from Family and Life”, and “Maternity”, held at Pikto Studios in Toronto. We had a wonderful time perusing so many differing views of the same subjects. This was certainly a challenge to pick just ONE from each workshop!!! Great work by all of you and congratulations on such fabulous and talented shooting. The world hasn’t seen enough of you yet!

Well, the new site is up and running - still waiting for all new images. Busy, busy here!! It’s gonna be great, I have a LOT of work to show you and some other exciting things coming up.Stay tuned tomorrow for the the winning images in our contest. Participants from two recent workshops have submitted images for judging. It’s been pretty tough to choose and we are narrowing them down! One winner from each workshop - Art from Family & Life and the Maternity Photography workshop - will be chosen. Each will been given time to play in my Beaches studio, with their own models and creativity. Can’t wait to show you our choices. Come on back tomorrow to view the winning shots!

Well it seems like something has gone amiss with my website. A bit of a bump in the road, as they say and all my web data is gone - bummer yes! But I have decided to take the opportunity to put up a whole new site. So I am very excited about that. Been playing around with the new Sony Alpha 350 in preparation for my demos (see post below). So I thought I would add a few recent shots of my own kids that I made with it. It’s always fun to have more reasons to make pictures! VERY special to my heart are the shots I have done of my oldest, Zak. He’s away at Fanshawe College most of the time studying Music Industry Arts, but on his break before leaving for his summer camp job - I managed to grab a few shots of him with his “kit”. Love them. Love them all. My middle child Michelle, lovely and on the verge of 13….. and my baby Wyatt - always in the dirt. He really digs it!

It’s Henry’s - The Photographic and Digital Imaging Show and I will be doing demonstrations photographing kids with Sony’s great new Alpha 350 dslr this Saturday (May 3) from 10:30 ’til 6. It’s gonna be a blast. This camera really rocks for those that want to make the leap from a point and shoot to a dslr camera and make better photographs of their families! Come on down and say hello - would love to see you there. I’ve been playing around with the Alpha all week. Here are a few shots I’ve made - what fun! Which is the way it should be with kids!!
